The Department's mission statement calls for intensifying the multi-dimensional significance of Israel in connecting the next generation of the Jewish People to its heritage, people and homeland. Over the last few years, the Department has developed, along with its partners, new programs, materials, experiences and resources for the educational engagement with Israel in Jewish educational institutions around the world. These programs aim to link the best of the educational and cultural resources of Israel and the Jewish People to the needs of Jewish educators and communities. Israel offers outstanding personnel, materials and experiences for Jewish education.

Established in 1969, the IACCâ??s mission is to improve the quality of life in Israelâ??s diverse communities. Its unique democratic, holistic and flexible approach encompasses a comprehensive range of programs specially tailored to the needs of each community in which it operates. These programs are available to all Israelis, regardless of ethnic background, religion, age, gender, economic status, or location. The IACC is proud to offer the same range and level of services to Israelâ??s peripheral areas as to the center, and to place special emphasis on serving disadvantaged populations in all sectors of the country. It offers the services of professional training, planning, development, and fundraising for special projects to meet the needs of its network that includes over 180 community centers (40 in the non-Jewish sector), with 816 branches, and more than 400 community schools throughout Israel.

The Melton Centre for Jewish Education represents the Hebrew University's commitment to the advancement of Jewish education worldwide. It offers students a variety of academic programs, which integrate general and Jewish education, the study of Jewish texts, and the contemporary Jewish experience. Numerous training programs are offered to Jewish educators from all over the world. The Centre conducts ongoing research in Jewish educational theory and practice.

The Jewish Agency's Israel Department launched Partnership 2000 in 1994 together with United Jewish Communities and Keren Hayesod/UIA. Partnership 2000 links Jewish communities abroad and regions in Israel in a mutual effort to strengthen Israeli society while promoting unity and Jewish identity. To date, 45 regions have been matched with 550 Diaspora communities.

birthright israel is a unique partnership between the people of Israel through their government, local Jewish communities (North American Jewish Federations through the United Jewish Communities, Keren Hayesod and The Jewish Agency for Israel), and leading Jewish philanthropists. birthright israel provides the gift of first time, peer group, educational trips to Israel for Jewish young adults ages 18 to 26. its founders created this project to send thousands of young Jewish adults from all over the world to Israel as a gift in order to diminish the growing division between Israel and Jewish communities around the world; to strengthen the sense of solidarity between Israeli youth and Jewish communities around the world; to increase the number of return visits to Israel; and to promote the role of Israel as a powerful resource in Jewish learning. birthright israel believes that it is every Jewish person's birthright to visit Israel. A unique partnership has been developed to provide the gift of the trip to all eligible participants. To date, nearly 70,000 young adults have traveled to Israel for the first time on birthright israel trips.
